Sleuths from the Anchovy police station and Montego Bay Freeport station have embarked on a search for three gunmen who on Sunday reportedly shot to death a mechanic at a location in the community and have since fled the area.
Dead is Andrew Cameron, 31 year-old mechanic of Bogue Heights in Montego Bay. He was shot to death at a section of the Anchovy community known as Cotton Tree Heights.
Reports are that Cameron had gone to Anchovy to visit his girlfriend on Sunday at approximately 11 p.m. According to the report, the couple was walking along the roadway at Cotton Tree Heights when three men allegedly approached them.
The men brandished handguns and held the two at gunpoint before taking them to an unfinished building in the area. Cameron was taken away after which gunshots were heard coming from the direction in which they went.
His female companion raised an alarm and the police were summoned. Upon their arrival, a search was conducted of the area and the body of the mechanic discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, which was removed to the morgue for a postmortem.
   Investigations continue.
