One man is now dead and another is being sought by the police following a chopping incident stemming from a dispute between the two in Dumfries on Thursday.
Dead is Anthony Powell, otherwise called 'Hero' a 25 year-old labourer of Canaan district, while the police is hunting a man who is believed to be in his mid 20s and whose name is being withheld as investigations are ongoing.
The Western Mirror Jamaica was learnt that approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday the man who is now being sought by the police, armed himself with a machete and journeyed to Powell's home.
They got in an argument which escalated into a fist fight. It is said that the killer overpowered Powell and chopped him a number of times. He later fled the scene, leaving the wounded man. He has not been seen since.
The police combed the community in a bid to apprehend the accused, but with no success. The wounded man was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead and his body later removed to the morgue for post mortem examination.
