Teen on larceny charge

A teenage boy who reportedly went inside the Fontana Pharmacy and stole a bottle of Rum Cream and a bottle of Alize has been released on bail.
Kemar Warsop, 19, of a St. Catherine address appeared before the Montego Bay RM court on Wednesday, December 23 to answer to a charge of simple larceny.
He was offered bail in the sum of $20,000 with conditions that stipulate that he report to the Freeport Police Station on Mondays and Saturdays.
He was also instructed to attend the probation office in order to be interviewed for a social enquiry report.
He is scheduled to return to court on February 24, 2010 when he will be sentenced.
Reports are that on December 16, 2009, the security guard was on duty at the pharmacy when the buzzer went off.
Warsop, who was exiting the building at that point, was accosted and a bag he had in his possession was searched.
The bag was reportedly found to contain a bottle of Rum Cream and a bottle of Alize valuing over $2,000.
Warsop, who could not produce a receipt, told the security guard that his friends had instructed him to take the items as well as to inform him that they attended the pharmacy before and took things as well.
The security guard then called Hawkeye Security who came and took the accused to the CIB office.
He was arrested and charged.
