A popular football referee was killed in the second city yesterday (Thursday) morning. Andre Gayle, age 29, who also worked as a security guard employed to Camp­bell's Chartered Security Services, was shot and killed while on duty at the Ovista Guest House in Richmond Hill.

This according to the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) which states that on March 15 Minister of State for Water and Housing, Hon. Everald Warmington officially commissioned the new system into service, which was built at a cost of approximately $23 million through the joint efforts of the Ministry through the Rural Water Supply Limited, Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF), and the Catadupa Benevolent Society. The Catadupa system can supply up to 103,000 gallons of potable water per day.
