A man who tried to export nine pounds of marijuana to the USA will be sentenced in the Montego Bay RM Court on March 24.
A man who tried to export nine pounds of marijuana to the USA will be sentenced in the Montego Bay RM Court on March 24.
Uroy Wilson, 39, of Negril, Westmoreland pleaded guilty to possession, dealing and attempting to export the illegal drug when he appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Wednesday, March 17.
He will remain in custody until March 24.
Reports are that on March 12, 2010,
Wilson was on his way to board an American Airlines flight to New York from the Sangster International Airport when he was stopped at the boarding gate.
A suitcase he had checked in was retrieved, which was subsequently opened and searched in his presence. It was reportedly found to contain four pairs of sneakers, each of which was found to contain the weed.
Five additional packages with the contraband were also found at the side of the suitcase.
Hence he was arrested and charged.
