Police Kills One: Two firearms recovered in Norwood

The police killed one armed man in the Norwood community on Friday night, sparking the protest of some residents. They are protesting against what they claim to be an unjust killing by the lawmen. The police are saying, however, that they were first fired upon by two men and they were forced to return fire, resulting in one being killed.

  David Thelwell, 29, of Glendevon, St. James, was charged after he allegedly shot and killed four persons in Hendon, St. James, and injuring three other persons in the incident.

Woman accused of lover's murder out on bail

A woman, who is accused of murdering her lover, was granted bail in the sum of $100,00 when she appeared before the Montego Bay RM court on Wednesday, January 20.
  Janet Ferguson, 45, of Canaan District, Adelphi, St. James, is charged with the murder of George Ellis, 33, also of Adelphi.

Drive-by victim identified: Said to be a Canadian citizen

The man who was shot in a drive-by attack on Tuesday morning while walking from Mt. Salem in Montego Bay has been identified.
 He is Rohan Oliver, a 43 year-old Canadian citizen who was staying with relatives in the community of Coopers Hill Terrace in that community.

   The three latest victims are: 19 year-old Adrian Campbell of Content District, Adelphi; 17 year-old Aarando 'Rando' Whittaker, a student of Spot Valley High School of a Salt Spring address and an unidentified man believed to be in his late 30s. The body of the unidentified man was discovered in bushes at Mt. Carey District yesterday.
