Dwayne Troupe will know on April 7 what impact, if any, a court-ordered Social Enquiry Report will have on his sentencing.
The 20 year-old resident of Hendon Norwood, St. James, appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Friday, March 12 to answer to a charge of larceny from the person after he allegedly stole a 10
year-old boy's cell phone.
He will remain behind bars until April 7.
The prosecution is alleging that on March 5, 2010 about 2 p.m., the 10 year-old boy was on his way home from school when he took out his cell phone to call his father.
On reaching the vicinity of the Mount Alvernia High School, he was approached
by the accused man who pushed him to the ground before relieving him of his phone.
The boy tried to retrieve his phone and Troupe allegedly pushed him to the ground again and fled the scene.
However, he was chased by citizens who held on to him and handed him over to the police.
