Customers of the National Water Commission who have not been receiving their bills" over the past two weeks should see an improvement in bill dispatch come next week.
The mail insertion system, which allows for volume stuffing of bills, malfunctioned and was out of operation, resulting in a backlog of the dispatch of bills. The backlog means that a number of customers, whose bills would have already been due or become due shortly will receive them later than normal.
Urgent and extensive work carried out on the machine
over the period has led to the prompt resumption of mail insertion and dispatch of those bills computed during the past two weeks. At the same time this is being done, the operating hours of the machine is being extended to clear the backlog of earlier bills in the shortest possible time.
The NWC reminds these customers that even while they await the receipt of these bills, they may obtain their bill balance by calling 1888-CALL NWC or visiting www.nwcjamaica.com and make good their payments.
The National Water Commission apologies for any inconvenience caused.
