Catherine Hall edged Bamboo FC 2-1 in Sunday's round of the Captain's Bakery Western Confed Football Competition. Playing on home turf, Catherine Hall made easy work of the first quarter of the game.

During that period of domination, Errol Jones opened the scorline in the 9th minute for Catherine Hall when he was the first to react after the Bamboo custodian failed to hold on to a powerfully struck free kick, he made no mistake slotting in from close range.
Two minutes later, the speedy Christopher Johnson nearly equalized for Bamboo when he skillfully dribbled past three Catherine Hall defenders but kicked wide of the mark from close range.
The second goal was not long in coming as Carl Henry made it 2-0 in the 18th minute when he scored from a direct attack. With the added goal, the Garfield Anderson coached team launched a series of attacks on the Bamboo area but were let down by faulty shooting.
Playing a counter-attacking game, Bamboo pulled one back in the 29th minute when the persistent Johnson rose high to head powerfully past the Catherine Hall goalkeeper.
Terry Tomlinson, Garfield Rosewell, Ian McDonald and the skilful Jermaine Woozencraft tried to steady the ship for Catherine Hall but failed to change the scorline.
The half ended without any further goals. In the second half Bamboo came out looking more purposeful and should have leveled the score in the 55th minute when Garfield Duncan breached the defence after a good build up, but he hesitated in the box and was robbed of possession.
Catherine Hall responded five minutes later through Jones, whose right sided powerhouse shot careened off the crossbar and back into play.
Both teams missed several simple goal scoring chances and at the sound of the final whistle Catherine Hall's scorline remained intact.
"It was a very tough game as playing Bamboo always is. We started the quicker of both teams and we kept the
momentum throughout the game," said Garfield Anderson of Catherine Hall.
"This is work in progress, we are taking it one game at a time and the team is applying themselves so we just have to give them credit," He added.
A disappointed Errol Jumpp of Bamboo FC admitted that faulty shooting was the cause for them not winning the match.
"We really should have won the game, but again we didn't take our chances. We will just have to refocus and win our remaining games," Jumpp said.
