Petersfield FC clipped newcomers New Market Oval FC 1-0 in the Hamilton Estate /Icy Hills Entertainment Westmoreland U nder-17 League, at Petersfield, Saturday. New Market who replaced out of sorts Chantilly FC fought hard, but never overcame the experience of the Petersfield unit.
Forever Sports FC dammed Roaring River FC, 2-0 while Reno FC battled to a 1-1 draw with Dunbars River.
Over at Truro, only one of the three scheduled games was played as CWAC FC and Paul Island FC did not show for their encounter against Frome FC and Savannah FC respectively. In the sole game played at the ground, GHODS clipped Mt. Grace 1-0 to earn themselves all three points.
Defending champions, Munro, played out a 1-1 draw with Western Sports Academy. Munro who failed to show for their last match against Extra Flex at Llandilo grabbed the lead after 47 minutes of play through Jordan Singh. However, they were pegged back when Richard Williams found the equalizer two minutes later for WSA.
In another game, Russia FC's Kawayne Wilson with a 20th minute strike helped them to a 1-1 draw with Negril FC for whom Mario Slater scored a 52nd minute equalizer.
In the third game at the Negril field, Kendon Tomlinson scored the lone goal of the game to gift his team a narrow victory. The build-up to the goal was sublime as Tomlinson received a final pass from a great move involving Andy Williams, Michael Gordon and Jahmaly Brissett to score what became the winner.
