A St. James man who allegedly broke into another man's business place was remanded in custody when he appeared before the Montego bay RM Court on Friday, March 5.

    The accused, Cornell Kitson is answering to a charge of shop breaking and larceny.
    He will remain behind bars until March 15 when the matter will again be mentioned.
    Reports are that on January 24,2010 about 3 p.m., the complainant locked his business place and left.
    About 3am the following morning, a witness was going fishing when he saw Kitson breaking into the complainant's business place and called out to him.
    It is alleged that the accused advanced towards the witness with a knife and the witness shot at him with the fish gun.
    He continued to advance towards the witness and citizens came on the scene and inflicted blows to him causing him to visit the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
    The matter was reported to the police, which resulted in the accused man's arrest.
    A bag with $9,500 and a phone was found in his possession.
    The court was also told that when Kitson was cautioned, he said to the police, 'A di coke weh mi deh tek a mash mi up."
