Two St. James men facing a murder charge will have to wait a little longer before the prosecution proceeds with the case against them.
Rohan Williams of York Bush in the parish and Gavin McPherson, also of a St. James address have been accused of the murder of 40 year-old Anthony Kentish of Anchovy in the parish.
Due to the constant no show of the eyewitness, the preliminary inquiry failed to get underway. As a result, a letter was written to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
When the matter came before the Montego Bay RM Court on Thursday, March 4, the clerk informed the court that they were awaiting on a response from the Director.
The men, who are out on bail, had their bail extended until April 29.
The incident reportedly took place on November 26, 2006 while Kentish and another man were driving to Williams' house.
Whilst on their way, they met Williams and another man only known as 'Mark Ten,' who was in another car and they all drove to "Mark Ten's" house.
Whilst there, Kentish was allegedly beaten and the other man was tied up, after which both men were thrown in the trunk of "Mark Ten's" vehicle.
The men then drove Kentish and the other man to Wales Pond and threw them in separate gullies.
The other man managed to untie himself and they shot at him but he managed to escape.
Kentish's body was later found with lacerations and a gunshot wound.
Following investigations, the two men were arrested and charged.
