A 67 year-old British man who failed in his attempt to smuggle over 30 pounds of marijuana from the island was remanded in custody when he appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Thursday, February 25.
A 67 year-old British man who failed in his attempt to smuggle over 30 pounds of marijuana from the island was remanded in custody when he appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Thursday, February 25.
The accused, Owen Brown of London, England pleaded guilty to possession, dealing and attempting to export the illegal drug.
He will again face the court on March 2.
According to court records, on February 18, 2010, Brown went to the Sangster International Airport where he checked in to board a British Airways flight to England.
A suitcase he had checked in was searched and was found to have three packages containing 31 % pounds of the weed.
Hence he was arrested and charged.
