The Montego Bay RM court is still not been able to carry out legal proceedings in the case against two men who have been charged in connection with the murder of 42 year-old Clifton Brown of Whitehall, St. Elizabeth.
Charged with conspiracy to murder and robbery with aggravation is Leighton McLennon, 22, of Stonehenge, St. James and Kimari Stephen, 26, of Ginger Hill, St. Elizabeth.
The matter has been delayed as the prosecution is seeking guidance from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on how to proceed with the matter.
When the matter came before the court on Wednesday, January 27, the clerk informed the court that they were in dialogue with the Director which has not yet been completed.
The two men were remanded in custody until February 3 when the matter will again be mentioned.
Reports are that on May 17, 2009 about 1:45pm, Brown, who was a salesman, was driving his Toyota Townace panel van along the Summer Hill main road when two men posing as customers stopped him.
The men shot him several times and robbed him as well as to relieve him of his license firearm before fleeing the scene.
Brown was pronounced dead at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
