A St. James man who was charged with disorderly conduct and for using indecent language was ordered to pay a fine when he appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Wednesday, February 3.
The charges arose out of an incident at the Sangster International Airport while the accused, Steven DaSilva was on his way out of the island.
In handing down sentence, Resident Magistrate Vivienne Harris ordered the accused man to pay a fine of $2,000 or spend 10 day in prison.
Reports are that on January 27, 2010, DaSilva was checking in to board a flight when the officer observed liquid substance inside his luggage.
After the officer pointed out to the accused man that such amount of liquid was not allowed, due to airport regulations, it is alleged that he started to curse loudly as well as to utter indecent language to the officer.
As a result, he was taken into police custody and subsequently charged.
