A woman has appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court accused of trying to smuggle over 4 pounds of marijuana into Curacao.
A woman has appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court accused of trying to smuggle over 4 pounds of marijuana into Curacao.
Inderia Pesaud, 26, of Ocho Rios, St. Ann pleaded guilty to possession, dealing and attempting to export the illegal substance on Thursday, February 4.
She was remanded in custody by Senior Resident Magistrate Vivienne Harris and will return to court on February 8 when she will be sentenced.
Reports are that on February 2, 2010 about 11:45am, Pesaud went to the Sangster International Airport where she checked in to board an Air Jamaica flight to Curacao.
A suitcase she had checked in was retrieved, which was later opened and searched in her presence.
Among articles of female clothing was a green traveling bag containing 3 rectangular packages with 4 % pounds of the contraband.
Hence she was arrested and charged.
