OUT ON BAIL...Teen could have additional charges laid against him

No. 130 Friday, August 20, 2010
Additional charges could be brought against a 19 year old man, now out on bail, after he was recently charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, when he appeared before the Western Regional Gun Court.

Charged is Ricky Frame, unemployed of Kew District in Lucia, Hanover. Frame was granted bail in the sum of $150,000 with one surety and is to report to the Lucea police twice weekly.
The police are searching for evidence that could link the teen to a number of shootings which had taken place in Kew over the past three months.
The Western Mirror was informed that late last month, the Hanover police and soldiers from the Jamaica Defense Force carried out a number of operations in sections of Lucea and surrounding communities.
During the operation, the lawmen traveled to Kew district where the accused teenager was spotted walking along the roadway with a knap-sack on his back. Upon seeing the security detail, the teenager ran and the lawmen gave chase. The teen was cornered and the bag taken from him.
A search of the bag was undertaken and the lawmen discovered it to contain a home-made handgun and two 12 gauge cartridges. The accused was transported to the Lucea Police Station, where he was slapped with the charges.
He is now booked to reappear in court next month, but could see himself being slapped with the additional charges.
