A St. Catherine woman who was arrested after 11 pounds of marijuana was found inside her luggage, while on her way out of the island, has been released on bail.

Peta-Gaye Wright, a 23 year old bartender of Angels Estate in St. Catherine pleaded not guilty to possession, dealing and attempting to export ganja when she appeared before the Montego Bay RM Court on Thursday, February 25.
She was offered bail in the sum of $100,000 with up to three sureties and was instructed to report to the Spanish Town Police Station on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
She was also asked to surrender her travel documents and a stop order will be placed at all ports of exit.
The matter will again be mentioned on April 29.
On February 23, 2010, Wright was on her way to Curacao when irregularities were detected in a suitcase that she had checked in on an Air Jamaica flight.
Wright, who had already boarded the aircraft, was removed and taken back to
the security checkpoint where the piece of luggage was opened and searched in her presence.
The suitcase was reportedly found to have two bags and each of the bag was found to contain a package with 5 liz pounds of the weed.
Hence she was arrested and charged.
