A Children’s Corner will be introduced at the Annual North West Constituency Conference of the Peoples National Party (PNP) to be held at the Montego Bay High School, Saturday, August 28, 2010.
This is an innovative approach in response to the concerns of delegates for the care, security and safety of their children, while they participate in the private session of the conference.
Games, bounce-about and entertainment will be provided along with a back to school treat coordinated by the wife of the caretaker for the constituency, Jennifer McCurdy. This is as an added component to the annual conference that will ensure the full participation of parents in the deliberations of the private session of the conference scheduled to commence at 2 p.m.
Top of the agenda of the private session will be discussion on the Progressive Agenda a policy frame work to be implemented upon the return of a PNP government. This will be facilitated by Raymond Price, member of the party’s Communication Commission.
Other issues on the agenda include resolutions coming for the groups, divisional and constituency reports and the elections of officers.
The public session will be address by the President of the Party and Leader of the Opposition, Portia Simpson.
Mrs. Simpson Miller is scheduled to make her address at 5 p.m.
The Annual Constituency Conference brings to a close a series of conferences held in the constituency including five divisional conferences where chairpersons and divisional executives were elected to serve for the 2010-2011 political year.
In the meantime, Henry MeCurdy will be seeking reelection for chairman of the constituency.
