Some 20 appreciative students will assemble at the Coral Cliff Gaming Lounge tomorrow night (August 26) to collect cash awards towards their tuition fees for the upcoming school term.
The cash is being made available from profits accrued from this year’s staging of the Red Label Wine International Dancehall Queen held at Pier One on Saturday, July 31, 2010. The ceremony is set to get underway at 7 p.m.
So far, twenty cheques in the sum of $50,000 have been drawn to be presented to the institutions that each student will be attending next month.
There is speculation that the number of awardees. could be more than 20, but the Western Mirror was unable to locate Mr. Brian Martin (the CEO of the Bighead Promotions, the producers of Dancehall Queen) up to press time.
