A man who was allegedly attacked and robbed in January this year faces the Montego Bay RM Court with his attacker on Friday, February 5 to answer to robbery and wounding charges.
Darren Thomas was charged with robbery with aggravation after he allegedly attacked and robbed Linsent Hines.
Hines was charged with unlawful wounding after he chopped and wounded Thomas as a result of the same incident.
Hines had his bail extended until February 15 while Thomas, who is alleged to have committed the offence while on bail for another charge, remains behind bars.
The allegations are that on January 23,2010, Hines was walking along St. James Street with a friend when they stopped to purchase CDs.
While purchasing the items, three men, including Thomas, approached them with knives and informed Hines that his friend had thrown stones in a car on Strand Street injuring a lady.
Hines and his friend then accompanied the three men to Strand Street but the lady was not seen.
The three men then blocked their path and Hines was robbed of a portion of cash and a cell phone.
After the men left, Hines walked to Barnett Street and went inside the Super Plus Food Store where he saw Thomas and demanded his cell phone and Thomas brandished a knife.
Hines then allegedly pulled a machete and chopped Thomas three times.
Hence the two were arrested and charged.
