Despite the numerous police killings in Montego Bay recently, detectives were called into action on Friday to investigate the murder of an Ironshore businessman.
He has been identified as Jeffery Lee Forming, otherwise called 'Mr. Lee' a 55 year-old businessman of Patterson Avenue in Ironshore, who operates a business in Kingston.
He is the 23rd murder victim since the start of the year.
Reports are that on Friday night Mr. Lee was home reading a newspaper, when gunmen forced their way into the house. The miscreants brandished firearms and shot the businessman several times in the head and upper body.
Neighbours who heard the explosions went to investigate and found him lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead and his body removed to the morgue. The police have so far ruled out robbery as a motive.
Prior to this murder, a young man who resides in Bogue Village fell prey to gunmen while on his way home last Tuesday night. He later died in hospital.
