Police in Montego Bay, St. James are determined to locate a man who is said to be the mastermind behind a major ganja selling operation in the Bogue Village area.
Police in Montego Bay, St. James are determined to locate a man who is said to be the mastermind behind a major ganja selling operation in the Bogue Village area.
The Western Mirror understands that police acted upon information and carried out an operation along the Bogue Village main road and during the operation a stall located along a section of the roadway - which it is alleged to be used by vendors to sell items to a number of workmen employed to contracting the widening of the North Coast highway - was searched.
The lawmen later stumbled upon a bag containing over 55 wrappers of ganja and over 15 pieces of hashish 'gum' which, was also in a plastic bag and concealed at the said spot.
No one was arrested during the search as the lawmen stated that no one was at the stall during the operation but investigations are now being carried out to determine which vendor was actually in charge of the stall. The law men searched other areas of the premises, but nothing else was found.
So far, more than 15 individual have been placed before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate Court in connection with drug related charges and several assorted contraband discovered at several- location in communities around the parish.
